![]() Is there a set time frame in which IE have to respond to refund requests?
I put one in 3 weeks ago now for the chaos on Mar 13, but haven't ahd as much as an acknowledgement. Though I saw something before in the customer charter, but can't find it now. On a related note - are IE legally bound by the customer charter? Or is it just a sop to satisfy the DOT? |

![]() I sent in for a refund for a ticket that I hadn't used (missed the train, took the bus), it took about 3 months before the refund slip came through. I did get an apologetic letter with it, though, explaining that my refund form and ticket had been lost on someone's desk.

Note to confuse matters stuff for Heuston based services bar Waterford should go to customer relations southern and western Heuston (703 4499), the forms in Heuston have that address the ones in Thurles and elsewhere don't. Thurles is the only station where the forms are actually on display |

![]() Years ago I was on a train that took over 5 hours from Dublin - Galway on Paddy's day. (I was living in Amsterdam at the time, and it had taken me less time to get from my front door there to Heuston, and that included changing planes in Heathrow).
I wrote a letter of complaint the following week (i.e. mid March). In late June, I got a reply advising me I could get a refund if I sent in the ticket I'd used, which needless to say had been binned months before.. That's service for ya! |

![]() I booked a return ticket from Brussels South to Ypres and then got the local bus to Mesen. The police had blocked the road into Mesen and I missed the return bus, which was terminating one stop from the terminus. I luckily got a lift back to Brussels.
Next day I went to Brussels South and asked for a refund. They told me I would have to go to the reclaim office in Ypres. ![]() |

![]() Ah yes it's great to live in a country where the people get to choose their head of state instead of the last head deciding...
oh wait.... The queen of Holland or Denmark apparently cycles to the shops herself. |

![]() Despite an e-mail a week ago telling me my claim would be processed immediately if I e-mailed my details, I've again heard nothing.
It's six weeks now, and this is beyond a joke. Are IE subject to the small claims court? |

![]() Thanks, I was afraid of that.
[edit] Hang on, does that mean IE: - need not have "the necessary skill to render the service"; - don't have to "supply the service with due skill, care and diligence"; and - need not have equipment that's "sound and reasonably fit for the purpose for which they are required" Explains a lot Last edited by MOH : 03-05-2007 at 09:40. |
