Christmas & New Year Schedule 2010
29 November 2010

There is no Luas service from 8.00pm Christmas Eve Friday 24th December to 9.00am St. Stephen’s Day Sunday 26th December. There will be trams every 15-20 minutes on St. Stephen’s Day. Trams will run from The Point to Tallaght and from Stephen’s Green to Brides Glen.

From Bank Holiday Monday 27th December to Bank Holiday Monday 3rd January, Saturday or Sunday operating hours and frequency will apply. Services will operate from 7.00am or 6.30am to 11.30pm or 0.30am with the exception of Night Luas trams on New Year’s Eve Friday December 31st

All services will return to normal on Tuesday 4th January 2011.

Night Luas trams will run on the Luas Green Line from St. Stephen’s Green to Brides Glen at 1.00am, 1.30am, 2.00am, 2,30am, 3.00am and 3.30am on:
• Friday 10th and Saturday December 11th
• Friday 17th and Saturday December 18th
• New Year’s Eve Friday December 31st


Luas Red Line

Night Luas trams will run on the Luas Red Line from The Point to Tallaght at 1.00am, 1.30am, 2.00am, 2.30am and 3.00am on:
• Friday 17th and Saturday December 18th
• New Year’s Eve Friday December 31st

Major DART Engineering Works between Dún Laoghaire and Bray

27th December 2010 to 3rd January 2011

There will be NO train service between Dún Laoghaire and Bray stations from
27th December, 2010 to 3rd January, 2011.

The following stations will be closed for train services:

Sandycove/Glasthule, Glenageary, Dalkey, Killiney, Shankill


Train Service details

Northbound DART services will operate between Dún Laoghaire and Howth/Malahide

Southbound DART services will operate between Malahide/Howth and Dún Laoghaire

A shuttle DART service will operate to/from Bray and Greystones ONLY.


Bus Transfers/Ticketing

Customers please use Dublin Bus scheduled services 45A, 59 and 145.

Dublin Bus will accept all valid rail tickets on these services.


Intercity

Intercity services between Connolly and Rosslare will have direct bus transfers between Connolly/Bray, Dún Laoghaire/Bray to connect with Rosslare services.

Replacement bus services will depart 20 minutes earlier than scheduled times.

Iarnród Éireann apologises for the inconvenience caused as a result of these essential engineering works.

Christmas 2010 and New Year 2011 service arrangements by Corporate Communications

Customers are advised to search the journey planner at the www.irishrail.ie homepage, or to download the pdfs below for service information across the Christmas and New Year periods:

Please check your times before travelling on Intercity, DART and Commuter, as there are schedule alterations throughout this time on each day.


However, customers are advised to note in particular the following:

24th December (Christmas Eve): Most services will terminate by 21.00hrs approx. A Saturday service operates across DART and Dublin commuter.

25th-26th December (Christmas Day & St Stephen's Day): There are no rail services across DART, Commuter and Intercity on these days.

27th December 2010 to 3rd January 2011: Rail services are suspended between Dun Laoghaire and Bray due to major track works - full details here

27th December: Public holiday - Saturday service on Cork commuter, Sunday service on DART / Dublin commuter with some revisions

28th December: Public holiday - Saturday service on Cork and DART / Dublin commuter with some revisions

29th-30th December: Weekday service on Cork commuter and Saturday service on DART / Dublin commuter with some revisions

31st December 2010 (New Year's Eve): Weekday service on Cork commuter and Saturday service on DART / Dublin commuter with some revisions - services terminate by 21.00hrs approx on all routes

1st January 2011 (New Year's Day): Public holiday - Saturday service on Cork commuter, Sunday service on DART / Dublin commuter with some revisions

2nd January 2011: Sunday service with some revisions

3rd January 2011: Public holiday - Saturday service on Cork commuter, Sunday service on DART / Dublin commuter with some revisions
