Default Possible double tracking of Newcomen Curve?

Just notice the last few nights going home outside connolly there is a fair bit of activity around the newcomen line. There also seems to be a second set of tracks for part of the section. Was this always there?
Perhaps they are just kicking off the resignalling works here early though.

I saw this too but I presumed that they were preparing the newcomer curve for the bank holiday weekends activity.ensure that the curve is in working order for the more regular traffic.

The space around the Newcommen Curve is regularly used to store and assemble track panels for Connolly pointwork

It was originally built as two tracks

Its the steeply decending curved piece of track between platform 7 in Connolly and the line below next to the canal

There are no scheduled passenger services on this line, though it is used to bypass Drumcondra if required due to engineering works as per last week
