Credit card charges

I saw on here a few days ago in the intercity section that credit card charges were supposed to be coming to an end. The thread was a few months old I think but, accroding to irishrail.ie, these booking fees are still being included. Is there any word on when these will be stopping or has there been a change of mind?

We have been assured repeatedly that there will be a policy change and card charges will be removed, sadly no date is ever given as to implementation
