Default What has AIB & CIE got in common?

AIB and CIE (Irish Rail) have got one thing in common.

Both companies paint their 'branch' buildings before closing them!!!!

AIB painted their Kilcock branch a couple of months ago and recently announced its closure in 2013.
CIE has been doing the same for a very long time.

How long before the branch via Nenagh gets the chop.
Anyone know when the station buildings on this branch were last painted?

Oh dear!
Station buildings painted about 6 months ago will probably mean the closure announcement within 12/18 months!!!!
Seriously though, the Ballybrophy Limerick line should be mothballed. It's a total waste of resources/money that could be channeled into something more useful.
The motorway between Limerick and Dublin has made this railway line redundant.
This is fact.
Anyone try to prove otherwise?
Good luck!

Your timeline is wrong. Delete "six months after painting" and insert "three months after Alan Kelly gets a mini-minister job other than Transport"

Not to mention all the work that went into the 2700's just before they got the chop.
