Default [07/09/2010] Signalling problems again on the Longford/Sligo line

We're currently stuck at Killucan on the 0545 from Sligo for the last 25 minutes. We had a driver announcement about 10 minutes ago which wasn't terribly intelligible but the gist of it was signalling issues in the area.

Irish Rail have an alert up about the 06:15 from Longford being late due to signalling so I am guessing they got as far as Enfield.

Is there any end in sight for this or are we just going to have to learn to live with being an hour late once a fortnight?

We are on the move again.

Apparantly the problem is local to Killucan. There were a couple of men on the line so a couple of belts of a hammer must have sorted it.

We didn't even get to Enfield on the 06.15 Longford - Pearse. 50 minutes sitting just beyond Killucan station and the best our driver could manage was "I don't know how long we'll be". Currently 55 mins late between Enfield and Kilcock.

And to add to the fun someone has ploughed into the level crossing at Coolmine.
