Newbridge Rail Group
An article in the Kildare Post newspaper this week told how NRG are to seek a meeting with the Minister for Transport because they are fed up with IEs inability to keep promises. Two years ago they submitted a list of requests to IE at a public meeting and many of them have gone unresolved, including the very basic issue of protection from the weather on the platforms. They are also seeking the upgrade of the station. Both Mark Gleeson and I met with them as they were setting up and they are very well organised. We even witnessed IE management make the promises. Unfortunetly for them and all of us the IE manager who was proactive then, has left the company and returned to the UK. At this stage they appear to be an example of how IE "fob off" user groups. Hopefully, their meeting with the Minister brings better results.

Well if they think that they have a problem. Local elections aren't for another 18 months.
Had a look at DoT website and Dempsey's own site and cant find out where he's off to this weekend. Maybe he's digging out the protesters on the M3. Proper order. |
