Sneaky! Ie closed over the double doors so that passengers could not see that the train on platform 2 had left!! There was some sort of announcement a few mins ago but it was not audible and now there are a lot of annoyed passengers!

Well there are 2 trains in Dublin, or should be two

14:10 from Belfast and 15:20 to Belfast

The 15:20 suffered a failure chances are it would have to be brought to platform 2, emptied and then towed out so the locomotives could swap over or be taken to be repaired in the shed

Yes they could have swaped the 15:20 passengers over and left without you since P3 is normally empty up until 5pm

Odds are the 16:50 is waiting for the 15:20 to get out of the way

Good news it appears my reading of the situation is correct

Quote:
Enterprise - Update 1520 Dublin to Belfast 23-Aug-2007 17:20
Passengers on the 1520 failed service from Dublin to Belfast will be transferred on to the 1650 service from from Dublin to Belfast.

Passengers due to depart Dublin on the 1650 train to Belfast will depart Dublin at approximately 1730 on a replacement train.
Still somewhat curious that the best info to be had is coming from Belfast despite the issue being a 100m from both the CTC room and the IE press sorry media and communications office

Needless to say passengers on the 14:10, 15:20 and 16:50 all quailify for a refund of somekind

Things have gone from bad to worse! There was no announcement of a platform change. The first anyone new was ppl moving from the back of the q. Now we are all on platform 4. All gathered around the doors. Everyone is complaining. Ok they have now opened the doors. An ie person said we'd be leaving in 10 minutes. Most people are complaining about the way irish rail handled the situation and from my point of view irish rail made a bad situation worse!

I;d say 17:50 is the planned departure time, its the only gap

Everyone on board for the 16:50 is entitled now to 50% refunds, anyone from the 15:20 full 100%. If it gets to 90 minutes late 100% refund

Enterprise left at 17.37! Seems to be stopping at drogheda too according to an onboard announcement... Not the automated kind. Wlii see what happens, though i did see a regular drogheda person getting on the train.

Default unreliable enterprise service

Is the Enterprise the most unreliable train service on the Island of Ireland?

How does it compare to the Dublin/Cork service?

It is the worst no question

Mk4's on the Dublin Cork run have settled down and generally the faults encountered are not show stoppers

Here's what I can figure out:
At Donabate at 18.00 approx.- southbound Drogheda service, possibly the unit that forms the 18.40 Connolly-Dundalk. Stuck behind this was the Belfast-Connolly service, due to arrive in at 18.20.Enterprise seemed to be running slowly.
The 16.50 Bray-Drogheda was pulled into the southbound platform at Skerries @ 18.10, to allow the 16.50 Connolly - Belfast service by.
At 19.50 at The ladies Steps in Balbriggan, I spotted a southbound Translink C3K set. And at exactly the same spot, at 21.05 I spotted the same set heading northbound.
All seems to makes sense with the other postings.

When I was getting the DART just before six, the platform display indicated that there were delays due to an earlier train failure at Killester, but that things were 'begining to resume to normal'.

Can anyone in IE spell, or speak English?
