I liked the way that the sets impressively give the impression of a lonely man numbed to death in a bland, identikit house in some soul destroying sink estate in the middle of nowhere. The attention to detail is marvelous, including the tacky PVC front door, a symbol of the artificiality of Barry's life.

The ending is as dramatic as it is pathetic for poor Barry. Crushed by the awfulness of his decor he chooses the only option open to him.

The actors are excellent. The choice of a Jack L impersonator is truly inspired but the Solicitor character is a let down, portrayed as he is by some ex-bouncer with obvious anger management problems I fear for this character as well, as his living room (perhaps his office - even worse) indicates to me that he may well be going down the road of Barry.

This man need Ty Pennington, and fast.
