Default Sunday Services on the Kildare line

This topic has been discussed in the "up to date travel" thread.

However, I want to kick start it in here.

Special Christmas shopping service commenced on Sunday December 10th.

Loadings at Sallins/Naas were good.
No advertising was done to promote the new service.
No confirmation that it will run on Sunday 17th December has been made by IE.
The Sunday service will be an integral part of the forthcoming timetable for 2007.
P11 requested this service over 18 months ago.
It could run to Pearse station via Connolly and Tara street and P11 will continue to campaign for this.
Earlier departures from Kildare are required. We will be campaigning for this also.
The commencement of the Kildare Route Project may affect the Sunday service and any changes to the service throughout the week. P11 will monitor this.
And Finally. The new Sunday service appears to be a car dependent one, as the feeder bus does not run on Sundays to Sallins or Hazelhatch. This is a poor omission by IE.
Newbridge has never had a feeder bus service and considering the car parking issues, this is an area that needs to be addressed at local Government level, if we are to offer real public transport and beat the ever increasing problems that are developing with the Park n Ride concept.
