just for your information/reference there were extra trains today

From maynooth
13:00 and 14:00

From drumcondra
17:45 and 18:20

Also for future reference these extra trains for the gaa season are rarely put up on the website so you are better off consulting connolly or drumcondra or clonsilla who will be able to consult the weekly staff circular.

They seemed to have a train starting from Clonsilla as I was on the Sligo to Connolly around 1.30 and there was a set packed in the Clonsilla siding.

There was a few extra trains yesterday 2.00 and 2.20

Went down to get the 2.00 Maynooth to Connolly.

Everyone standing on Eastbound platform waiting for the train.

A train arrives and stops on the Westbound platform.

Annoucement to say the train is the 2.20 Maynooth to Connolly.

So just before 2.15 the 2.00 train arrives and we all get on and away we go.

How can a train which starts at Maynooth be delayed by 15 mins and not get out ahead of a train behind it and why did they not switch the trains around so the 2.20 became the 2.00 and vica-a-versa or is that to easy

Not many people were on the train when it arrived into Drumcondra. I say this is due to the lack of advertising for these extra trains.

i was going to post here saturday but darn phone battery typical!

special services for sunday were posted up at clonsilla station on saturday:

they were inbound:
13:15, 14:15 and the 14:35 that was coming from longford

and outbound:
17:45, 18:20 and the 19:30 to longford

Typical that they advertised the drogheda/dundalk and athlone specials but not the longford or maynooth specials!

The 2.00 and 2.20 from maynooth arrived from Dublin and not Longford direction

With Dublin playing in Croke Park on Saturday afternoon and evening that extra trains will be put on but these will be a secret to the customers unless you consult the station staff

Extra trains are unlikely on a Saturday given that most trains run Mon-Sat on the Maynooth line

Depending on the end time one or more of the current MF trains might run to Maynooth
