Default [15-6-2007] DART services

Subject to delays 5-10 minutes owing to the bad weather

Already had the power trip out between Dun Laoghaire and Booterstown

High tide was shortly after 11am so the line is not currently at risk of closure owing to flooding

Things get very wet in Blackrock, last time there was a high tide and heavy rain the water level was such that all you could see was the tops of the rails

And the train I was on managed to get through it

The fact the track side drainage channel is blocked doesn't help matters

I got off the train around lunchtime yesterday in Blackrock, I pressed the button, stepped out (onto southbound platform) and immediately got hit full in the face by a wave. Yuck!

I got a glimpse of that from my office window in blackrock yesterday. Those winds were quiet fierce. A few of thaw slamming onto the tracks. Having said that with some of the bad weather we have had over the last twelve months It has been nearly a year since i have seen it as fierce as yesterday.
