Default Maynooth Line Station Displays

Any word on when the passenger information displays on the platforms will be turned on along the Maynooth Line?

In Frequently Asked Customer Service Issues - Dublin Region Mark mentioned early 2006.

Dont hold your breath Maynooth_Line,

The CTC room in Connolly is too small to host the Sligo line controls and has to be rebuilt so it will be a few more years () before the displays are working.

If there are no platform displays until 2009, how will the Manooth line work after Spencer Dock is opened with trians going to both Spencer Dock and Connolly/Pearse?

Will we have to rely on the displays on the trains which aren't always on, or aren't always correct (eg I saw a northbound dart on platform 7 today with destination Bray and next station Sutton)

Yup, it will be rely on the trains display or have a timetable handy. The displays will not be working for another few years because of more short-sighteness from IE.

Could they not put a PC in the office to allow them to be controlled locally to advise of delays etc?

They should be able to just scroll the time table information and any advice of changes without any major CTC infrastructure!

How can it possibly take that long to re-build a CTC room!?!

I have a mental image of this ancient IE employee wearing a high visibility jacket standing there with a trowel and a bucket of cement.
