well, it would only have held the late trains an extra 5-10 minutes in addition to how late they were already. The on-time train should have been allowed to stay on time.
Methinks it was IÉ trying to make sure that the 2 westbound trains could make it to their destinations less than 1 hour late so that they could save themselves the refunds
