Default Howth Junction Platform Access

last night I got off at howth junction station at about 23.40 .. at the new station in howth junction after certain hours they close the main station and you have to use a secondary pedestrian bridge to leave the central platform. However both access gates to the two bridges were locked leaving everyone stuck in the central platform with no means of getting out of the station.. fortunately a gate on the other side of the platform was still open so it was easy enough for me to jump down and across the tracks and up to freedom.. obviously this is far from ideal or safe.. and I wondered how anyone less nimble might have escaped.. I know this happened recently at bayside as well... congratulations to the security or dart personnel who left everyone trapped

There seems to be a problem in the Howth Junc Bayside area, both stations are under the control of the same station master

Specific dates and times on other incidents would be most helpful.

You would be most justified in writing the the

Rail safety commission
4th Floor
Trident House
Blackrock
Co. Dublin

Having to cross the tracks is unacceptable.

Please Please Note
Trains operate in both directions on both tracks, its not uncommon for the last service to Malahide to use the wrong track back to Fairview
