Default Hurricane

Expect major disruption nationwide

Speed limits on exposed routes will lead to delays, expect up to 30 minutes

Ballybrophy-Nenagh-Limerick + Waterford - Limerick Junc all services cancelled

Major risks
1. Flooding at Merrion Gates, Dun Laoghaire Dalkey
2. Level crossings nationwide may have issue in high winds
3. Risk of trees failing
4. Risk of flooding on Glounthane - Cobh
5. Risk of flooding Hazelhatch
6. Risk of flooding impacting Docklands services and Maynooth line

Presumably this is down to ensuring the safety of staff of manually operated level crossings in windswept locations (which of course is a sensible precaution).

IMO its rather ensuring routes with high demand are kept operating where possible. A line like Limerick-BB could sustain a lot more damage (given its condition) and require a much more detained inspection afterwords taking up resources which could be put to use elsewhere

Bus Eireann has called a nationwide shutdown between 5am Monday and at least 2pm Monday.

No update from Dublin Bus

While the early morning commute in Dublin is likely to work ok, after lunchtime the wind is likely to cause serious issues

Phased shutdown of rail services in underway

Only east coast services remain, all other routes shutting down

Cork Commuter shutdown at 10am
Portlaoise commuter will shutdown after the 1120 departures

All services through Dublin Connolly are still running, however would expect to see Sligo shutdown in the next few hours

All service finished around 14.30 and expected to resume tomorrow as normal.

Likely the first Intercity services will be restricted to 50 mph on all routes over the sections outlined above if not the full route tomorrow morning.

I was surprised to see them running trains so late on Sligo. It's been pretty wild here in Longford since before midday. Really the clever thing to have done would have been to announce last night that the first two services each way would run to avoid stranding people.

Certainly based on the information available last night, there was no way I was going anywhere today.

Not particularly surprised, 13.00 arriving into Connolly at 18.30!

All Luas services will remain suspended tomorrow morning due to an incident at the Red Cow deport "technical room" caused by the storm.

An update will be provided at 12.00

What's the story with the maynooth line tonight ?

Citing very poor rail conditions, Irish rail have cancelled :

- 17:28 connolly maynooth
- 18:10 connolly maynooth
- 18:25, 18:55 and 19:25 docklands M3 parkway

The 17:15 connolly longford was deferred to 17:28 and the 18:05 connolly longford will now call at all stops
