Default Service as Usual

Th malahide Line reopened and Irish rail are back to their usual bad service.. on the 06.35 service Dundalk to Bray we had a wee stopover outside Skerries, after 5 minutes we were eventually told there was a signal block. At approximately 08.50 we eventually crawled over the new fixed bridge... eventually leading to being 17minutes late at pearse... if this the the way all northern line trains are running today we can expect further 20 minute delays.

of course Irish Rail will in a few weeks pad their timetables by 10 minutes so it will look like we will be less delayed...

The headline on the Metro now makes more sense... bring back the direct buses, at least we might get in to work on time.

the 09.55 Dundalk to Connolly service was equally 15 minutes late at connolly and made unscheduled stops at all stations from skerries including malahide and portmarnock

Absolute chaos

I count at least 4 cancellations so far, several trains terminated at Connolly for no reason

Delays of 20+ minutes on bulk of services

Enterprise services where all over the shop

Are there any drogheda services "trapped" south of dun laoghaire at the moment because of the line closure due to Flooding ?

The current notice has a time of 10.20

It should not take 10minutes to cross malahide at 25mph!

Due to speed restrictions the 1100 service from Dublin to Belfast Central is delayed by 10 minutes

It does when you play silly buggers at Malahide for 5 minutes and crawl through Donabate and Rush & Lusk!

The real reason may have been (a) the arrival from Belfast was about 20 minutes late (b) the train was booked out, possibly as a 'special'.

I read in the Lusk Neighbourhood Forum that the parking machines on the Lusk side at Rush/Lusk station were all out of order this morning. as expected - service is back to "normal".

the 06.35 from Dundalk was a few minutes delayed... They only went 10kph over the aquaduct... according to gps anyway!

It was a lot more crowded today too.. there were people standing from Rush and lusk

tigger 1962 was it a 4-car or a 6-car set? from what you are saying it sounds like the old "standard" 4-car set

I am going to join the fleet from tommorow onwards.
I will keep an eye on things as well (but I no longer go for the 6.35am from Dundalk ... to much bad memories. I will take a later "longer" train from now on)

06:35 service from Dundalk to Bray is invariably 8 carriages. I got it yesterday and it was 8 carriages as usual.

sorry, i got mixed up here I meant the 6.31am from Drogheda, that one stops 6.57am in Rush/Lusk and thats the one with the 4 carriages (the one i am abandoning). sorry for the confusion

the 6.35am from Dundalk is the train I am going to use now, stops at 7.26am in Rush/Lusk
