[8-9/11/2008] Claremorris Westport
There will be bus transfers between Claremorris and Westport on the evening of Sat 8th Nov and the morning of Sun 9th Nov due to engineering works somewhere between Manualla Junc and Westport
The effected trains will run direct to/from Ballina instead of Westport Irish Rail of course saying nothing yet

It'll be interesting all right - unless the sat imagery is so out of date it doesn't show an acceptable access from the platform to the access road?

Thats out of date
Manualla has no road access, staff are under orders not to leave anyone on the platform. Its a fairly easy trek up the bank to the roadbridge The booking people have blocked Manualla Junction from seat bookings to avoid problems. Since a minor rebuild it would be fairly easy to provide pedestrian access. Passenger demand would be rather low, but the cost would be effectively zero.

Not the first time IE have claimed a bus going to Manulla when in fact it was intended for elsewhere...

It was entered into the online timetable system sometime late on Thursday 30th October, weekly circular was issued on Wednesday 29th.
Its no secret, as a matter of routine the online timetable is checked on Fri/Sat, since there have frequently been cancellations, its boring and slow but it reveals lots of things, I'm not the only person who checks. Its hardly a copyright issue, the information is public domain if you know where to look. So there is trouble on the Limerick Junc - Waterford section next week http://www.railusers.ie/forum/showth...8195#post38195 For the record The 10:50 Ballina Manulla this morning was a bus as well due to maintenance reasons The 20:10 Ballina Manulla bus is going to either Claremorris or Ballyhaunis. Where material is copied directly from other sources, authors name, a link and copyright is clearly stated, if the material is available in public domain no such notice is required. If a media interview is given as a response to a article in the press, if we had worked with the journalist involved we state that and give due credit. If the information comes from one of the local groups we give credit as well.
