Obvisously they are claiming they dont have the cap..... hold on, they said earlier on they have loads of four car sets hanging around.............. how stupid is this?

Another trap skilfully avoided there James.

You see if this was live we could ask supplemental questions, like James wanted to do, but couldnt.

It's ok nikki, get carrige "B" on the 19.00 Dublin to Cork, first window on the left (top of carrige) is now in resplended clear, no blue to be seen.

Thanks for your question. Yes, those Spanish trains are lovely. 117 million and we dont even have a spare pane of glass.

Why is there a station called Phoenix park that's not in the Phoenix park, while there's a train line through the Phoenix park with trains running through it????

"Now that we are enjoying comparable levels of investment Iarnrod Eireann is benchmarking itself against the best in the rail business in terms of punctuality, cleanliness and customer service."
does anyone know what "Late" is en Francais?
oder auf Deutsch?

More to the point the Phoenix Park station is at the extreme western end of that development, and isnt finished yet. The compleated dwellings are at the eastern end, and are a very long walk away.

Ever head of a middle?

All right, that was fun.

Dont forget, the live real webchat in the Platform11 chatroom will be on air tonight. Derek and myself will be there, Mark Gleeson cant make it due to a computer problem (sort of essential really) and we hope that as many members will join in if for no other reason than to crash the server.

I'm posting the transcript of the Irish Rail webchat in the members section now and then going for lunch.

Dart to Drogheda?

Does Martin Cullen know about this?
or will the hourly Enterprise service happen after T21 in 2016 or later?

That was a load of non answers.

No customer service issues really.
As Derek pointed out that's what IE can really fix if they cared.

Lisa asks: Do the trains from Spain actually exist?

Dick: Lisa, yes they do, they are not just a figment of Craig Doyle’s imagination! All but two of the new CAF Intercity trains have now entered service. They’re already in service on the Cork-Dublin route. I hope you get a chance to try them soon.
Ok so he is telling the truth 6 seperate trains have been in service but never more than 3 have been at service at the same time. The coaches adopt a union based approach where if more than 3 sets are rostered they all break down so the day they tried 4, 3 broke within 8 hours. July 10th there where 3 sets in service (9am, 9:45am and 9:54am), December 7th, still only 3 sets in service

Of course IE don't have sufficent spare parts to keep them moving

Of course the breakdowns are a meerly a figment of my imagination I wasn't stuck in Kildare for an age, I was dreaming. Look into my eyes............

Michael: In addition to the large capital send can Iarnrod Eireann also do the simple free things like making sure that all gates are open when exiting stations? Connolly and Tara street commutes have to queue to get out of the station when some of the less experienced ticket checkers are working the gates.

Dick: Hi Michael,

Yes we understand the importance of free flowing access and egress at main stations in peak times and we are investing in new automatic ticket gates for both entrance and exit on our DART and Commuter network.

You may have seen some of these new gates already at Grand Canal Dock and Clontarf Road, and they are currently being installed at stations such as Connolly and Tara St .
So the solution is to slow you down even more, of course opening the suburban station in Connolly would kill the problem overnight

Well we could create a whole new chat thing

'corner the managers'

Yes they do take the train home, though in many cases not the service they are responsible for which explains a lot
