Update at 18:00
DART and Commuter services are operating with delays up to 30 mins due to an earlier line closure between Grand Canal Dock and Connolly Stations on request by Gardaí and an earlier points failure at Clongriffin.

Delays of 30 mins southbound towards Bray at 19.30.......

They are back to low rail adhesion this morning due to lack of a better excuse. Why they can't just use "can't be bothered" as an excuse is beyond me.

Would have thought conditions this morning were ideal ! Maybe it's the stuff they are putting on the track. Travelled on the 0700 ex Cork this morning, about 10 late into Heuston due a multitude of slacks and possibly a signal check or two due to traffic ahead beyond Portlaoise. Not a hint of slipping or sliding.

This really seems to be primarily a DART issue and possibly a training issue - there is a massive variation in journey times often between successive services.

Just a thought but is the sandite train/applicators improving or dis-improving matters ?
