Default Car Parking charges to increase?

Hi,
I heard a rumour that the 2 euro a day car parking charge is increasing to 2.50 soon. Anyone know if this is true? Thanks

Must be part of a cunning plan to drive even more people away from using the Northern Line.

Seriously, do IE people know anthing about how to compete for customers? Could they ever consider that the marginal financial gain from the extra 50c per day would easily be offset if even a few people switched their custom elsewhere?

it will work only as long as people keep using the train and the local councils make it more expensive to use nearby parking. the Malahide incident showed that commuters could get into work quicker using buses, this will add to Irish Rails woes as more and more people decide to use the bus, especially if the service uses the port tunnel.. imho

Is it just the car parking that's rumoured to be increasing? Isn't this the time of year when they hike the actual train fares by some disproportionate amount too?

(Please tell me that at a time when people's wages, and the cost of almost everything is falling, that this is not even being considered! I'm still sore over the 10% fare hike last year.)

No fare increase, all fares held at 2009 levels for 2010

No word on the car parking charges, but there will be hell to pay if they increase the charge
