Weather Watch: Temporary Train line closures in Cork, Kerry and between Ennis and Athenry due to high winds

Update: 14.00hrs

Iarnród Éireann wish to advise customers on all routes in Cork and Kerry and between Ennis to Athenry to expect disruption and significant delays to services, due to fallen trees and other debris on railway lines.

The following lines have multiple trees fallen, resulting in services being suspended:

Mallow to Cork

Mallow to Tralee

Cork to Cobh/Midleton (Bus Transfers are being provided for this route, but with limited capacity)

Ennis to Athenry (Bus Transfers are being provided between Ennis and Athenry)

Due to fallen trees on roads, it is currently not possible bus transfers between Mallow and Cork and between Mallow and Tralee. Line maintenance crews are working to clear lines, to ensure customers are brought to their destinations at earliest opportunity. However significant delays can be expected.

This website will be updated with service information as will our Twitter account.

Iarnród Éireann apologises for any incovenience caused.

Arklow to Gorey back running.

Not sure why IE are saying Waterford services are operating when the 15.10 is stuck outside Carlow waiting for some chainsaws to arrive.
