To be precise

To lease and reguage existing UK stock is expensive and to be honest most of it is horribly unreliable, the modifications required are depending on type quite significant

To sign a lease and for Adtranz in Derby to then build a batch suitably modified at assembly time costs a little or nothing over the normal price.

In reality UK lessors have no interest here since if IE terminate the lease they have no other potential customer (NIR can't lease). Its all academic now since money doesn't appear to be a issue, current IE tenders seem to hint at possibly leasing from the manufacturer or making them responsible for maintenance to off load a element of risk.

The only thing leased in a real sense where the Ammonia tankers, and the Tara Mines wagons are actually owned by Tara Mines

Default 0655 ex sligo Thursday 31st May

The 0655 ex sligo was only a 4 car set Thursday 31st May and it was standing room only before it reached Maynooth.

Why are the information displays still not operational on the Maynooth line - except for Drumcondra.
We were originally told they would be operational when CTC became operational which it did - was it 3 years ago?

Magic book says its timetabled as 4 coaches. The 8:55 is the full 7 coach set

CTC went live to Sligo in November 2005, latest is post city centre resignalling for the boards to work

The outbound board in Ashtown could work right now

Mark states - 'CTC went live to Sligo in November 2005, latest is post city centre resignalling for the boards to work'

When will the 'post city centre resignalling' be completed?

Incidentally IE personnel did state a couple of years ago the information displays would be operational when CTC was completed on the Sligo line.
They have now come up with another excuse for the delay - do we really believe them?
