17.55 Maynooth - Pearse ( goes on to Rosslare )

Every day there is no internal announcements or displays.
First announcement is at Connolly when it becomes the train to Rosslare.
Its an older 2800 train if that makes any difference but there does seem
to be an led type display in each carriage

The evening train to Gorey actually had Gorey front and back tonight and working PIS, it was a 29000. Admittedly we did bug IE about having the 29000 set up for all routes last year

Met some yanks from Oregon who think we have a great bus and rail service here. Trouble was they were relying on looking out the window in the dark to work out where Dun Laoghaire was. No voice telling them that "this is a... southbound service to... Bray, next station... seapoint" and the electronic display in the carriage was also not working.

Its only the third time I'm aware a 29000 has done the Gorey run, I'm willing to cut it a little slack. We did annoy Irish Rail to ensure the software was set up for all routes including Rosslare and it was delivered, at least it had destination correct which is better than the normal state of affairs. It got lost at Rathdrum last time so its doing better. It doing all this without GPS purely by distance travelled

When the PA is made is buried knee deep in a complex legal document which contradicts itself

The pa when the doors open should state this train is for x calling at, when it leaves the station it should state the next station and about 40 seconds from the next station it should state the next station again as well as the mind the gap/ticket check warning if applicable

06:35 Dundalk Bray 13 Sept
PIS stated next station is Howth Junction, not Howth Junction and Donamede

( Marko has pointed out the sidney vs sydney parade so a whole word surely counts... )

07:22 Maynooth - Dublin Connolly

The PIS has a habit of saying "This train is for Dublin Connolly calling at ....... Drumcondra, Dublin Connolly, Tara Street and Dublin Pearse."

The train only goes to Connolly. 29302 is one of the carriages usually on the service.
