Crazy pricing - Enfield
I have stopped using the train to commute from Dublin to Enfield due to the fact that the bus is actually quicker.
I recently had to take the train home and was shocked that the price was €12.20 single. Is this not a crazy price, far more expensive than Bus Eireann and nearly four times the price of the private operator I use. How can a station two stops on from Maynooth and in a commuter town justify such a price? |

The main issue is that it is just outside the Dublin commuter area (boundary being Maynooth).

That price is crazy and if the bus is much cheaper and faster than this train people will of course vote with their feet and stop using it (unless they are rail enthusiasts). At least you have competition there. Thurles to Dublin/Cork fares are the biggest rip off since the TV license. No Bus Éireann/Aircoach to compete with either so you just have to pay it.
