Default Driver going to the shop

Was on a DART earlier which stopped at Lansdowne Road.

Driver got off the train into the shop and back on the train with his purchase.

Is this even allowed?

May not have been the driver, maybe it was a member of staff riding in the cab. Presumably the person in question was getting a bottle of water for the hot weather experienced this morning. Assuming this didn't cause a delay(train may have been early at the station) and the driver himself remained on the train, I don't see a huge issue.
