Default Cancellation of morning Commuter Trains

I commute from Hazelhatch, yesterday IR cancelled the 8.09am to Hueston, with the result that when the 8.24am train arrived of course it was completely overcrowded. This morning th 8.09am ran as usual, the 8.24am train arrived, but did not depart the station (Hazelhatch) until 8.32am. There are 3 trains serving Hazelhatch (according to the timetable) - 8.09am, 8.24am, and 8.32am, but it seem the IR are now only running 2 of the 3 trains. Can anyone fill me in on this ?.

Yesterday the 5:35 Limerick Heuston got stuck in engineering works near Limerick Junc so it was close to an hour late.

A special train left Port Laoise to fill in for the delayed train which used the set which would operate the 8:08 at Hazelhatch

There was no notice on the IE website as usual
