Plenty of people living only a short distance away. The problem as always is getting the people to the station and away from Heuston to where they want to go.

It is just an excuse after all.

Kilbarry was also put off and that's surrounded by houses and apartments. But I guess saying that they don't have the money to do it may sound like they're becoming political. And when the board is appointed by the government...

There is some additional construction work going on at the moment. It looks like they might be adding a platform to what will be the outbound fast track once all work is complete.

Looking at the area on a map, Kishogue station is literally just off the Dublin Outer Orbital Road, a dual carriageway at that point.

What I don't understand is this: why just build a big car park at the station (since it seems to be a lot of empty space around there) and use the place in the interim as a "D.O.O.R. Park and Ride?"

Outer Ring Road - DOOR is from Naas to Balbriggan / Drogheda "cross country".

There is a park and ride one stop further on at Clondalkin Fonthill and further west at Adamstown.

Ack, I mean Dublin Outer Ring Road, or the R136 dual carriageway.

There may be park and rides in those other stops, but from the point of view of Kishogue being on a major dual carriageway such as the R136, it would be ideal to have one there too.

I'm sorry, but IMHO in a country that's a car dependent as Ireland, building a train station off a dual carriageway without a single parking space makes no sense whatsoever. Particularly when there's a big empty field next door.

But there are dirty big dual carriageways connecting that station to the next stations also.
