Parking at Kent Station
I need to get the 9.30am train Cork-Dublin next Saturday - will there most likely be parking available at Kent station around 9am or does it get full at weekends - any advice appreciated

Next Saturday being the Rugby international? There is an overflow car park.
Note there is an extra train at 9am which could lead to the car park filling up before you arrive. One of our Corkonians should have more information, but the Rugby international changes things

There are approximately 200 spaces in the car parks on Lower Glanmire Road and a further 200 spaces accessible from Railway Street (steps up to Lower Glanmire Road). Alternatives are car sharing, taxi, any commuter train service or bus route 5 to the station or any bus to the bus station (0.7 km – about 9 mins) or to St. Patrick's Street (1.2 km – about 12 mins). If you plan to be drinking, perhaps one of the latter is more sensible.

Main car park will almost certainly be full. The overflow car park may or may not be.

The main car park is normally full by the time the 6:30am to Dublin departs, even on an ordinary day. The Railway St Car Park normally has spaces free later than that, although as others have mentioned, it's the day of the Ireland-South Africa rugby match.
In addition to Victor's suggestions for alternative means of getting to the station it's worth noting that buses 7 (Donnybrook-Ballyvolane via Douglas and City Centre), 8 (Bishopstown-Mayfield via City Centre) and 12 (Dublin Hill-City Centre) all stop on Summerhill North, which is only a couple of minutes walk from Kent Station. |
