Direction of travel
I'm planning on getting the 1235 Limerick-Dublin this Sunday (after watching Leinster thrash Munster the night before) but on the seat reservations page I can't work out which direction faces Dublin.
The reservation screen has an engine icon, car A and car B and nothing else. I *guess* the engine points in the Dublin direction, but it's also possible that the engine is at the back and there's a drivers section at the other end too. Does anyone know for sure which direction points towards Dublin ? Thanks, z |

Generally, the left end of the train points towards Dublin. If you board at Waterford or Thomastown it will be the other way around. However, it may be immaterial...

Well, yes
Do you mean that the left side of the seating plan faces Dublin ? I just want to make sure I don't sit facing Limerick all the way to Dublin.
By the way, on the 'off chance' that IE fail to do the booking thing and we don't get our booked seats, what happens ? Apart from the obvious thing of having to sit somewhere else of course. z |

The right end of the coach is the Dublin end, the left the country end
It assumes the train turns up facing the correct way round Sit anywhere if the seat reservation system doesn't work, it won't if its a direct train to Limerick

And if you've reserved a seat and can't find one, see the ticket checker. If he can't find you a seat, get him to initial your ticket and you get a full refund.
