Default Limerick and Back 6th/7th Feb

13:25 on Friday to Limerick.

3-car 28k absolutely jammed and not much standing room. until we got to Thurles. Why don't IE look at seat sales and put on a six-car if it's going to be full or a Mk3, it's not as if there's a shortage of rakes or locos.

Apart from that no trolley service [ I presume because it couldn't get down the aisle due to punters standing]

Return was the 13:55 [ Limerick departures board bore no relation to reality re platform numbers ] to the Junction.

I think Limerick is competing to win a prize re dirty windows on their railcars. Anyway

we hooked up with the CDE , top marks to cleaning staff [ well in view and up and down very often] and a really nice train host who was very helpful. Nice to see people doing their job properly.

That CDE is nonstop after Thurles, but the amount of TSR's meant we nearly stopped at all stations anyway. In on time or thereabouts.

I presume the Mk IIIs are being or have already been withdrawn from service for refurbishment? I think it's crazy running peak Dublin-Limerick or Dublin-Galway services with 3-coach units..
