DARTs leaving early
Is it just me, or has anyone else noticed a spate of DARTs leaving early lately?
Just made one six weeks ago which left a full 2 minutes early, complained to IE who said they'd investigate and get back to me, of course they never did. A couple of weeks later I caught another that left over a minute early. I've now been on three this week that have left early, albeit by less than a minute, but since they're usually 3-5 minutes late regular commuters don't generally tend to turn up early on the off-chance that the DART will. |

Had a similarish situation this morning. Going to Clontarf Road, I got off a Connolly-bound DART at Pearse and waited for the next Howth/Malahide train. I saw that there was a train due to Maynooth in 5 mins and my DART a few minutes later, so decided to head over to the other side to get a coffee while I waited. Just as I was getting my coffee my northbound DART arrived in, with no sign of the Maynooth train. Then, of course, the Maynooth train arrived and eventually the next northbound DART. I was delayed a good 10 minutes because the platform display wasn't accurate.

The various systems operate on different clocks and regularly have differencdes of 3 minutes or so.
Often the platform displays in Heuston are each showing different times. An aside, in the Cineworld cinema, the "platform displays" show the last time they were updated and not the current time. One would think that computers would have enough processing power these days. Iw onder if hte Irish Rail system is similar. |

True, but I meant going early as in by my watch, which I know is right. The platform displays seem to be out by different amounts on a daily basis. The 'real time' online system was over 3 minutes fast last week. And the clock on the 'old ' style turnstiles (at Killester anyway) is generally a coupls of minutes slow.

The red platform clocks are generally correct to atomic time
Beyond that everything else is random, the clock on the ticket system is confused. Where you really have a problem is the radio display in each cab now has a clock Of course bear in mind the countdown time is an estimate not representative of the actual time, the Luas ones are way worse
