Default [10-3-2008] 08:17 Maynooth Pearse

Did anyone have problems with Maynooth line Services this morning? When I arrived at Clonsilla there was a low volume audio message saying that there were delays due to an earlier technical fault on board a train at Connolly.

The 08.34 Clonsilla Pearse [08:17 Maynooth Pearse] arrived at Clonsilla 10 minutes late. There was barely room for anyone to get on after Clonsilla and after Ashtown it was horrible! It stopped after Drumcondra for about another 5 minutes arriving finally at Connolly at 9.15am [10-13 minutes late]

Also is it normal for this train to be that packed like that? I thought it wouldn't be that bad now that the 08:10 Maynooth connolly non-stop was in operation?

forgot to point out this train was 8-carriages long

The 0817 Bray train arrived 10 mins late at Coolmine - to my utmost surpirse, plenty of space on board, empty carraiges, even got a seat as did most otehrs on the platform!! I had to check if it was the tright day!! So it obviously didn't stop along the way, or else there was a huge rush for earlier trains. Heard the message about Connolly over the Tannoy - faulty train reported.

As far as i know, the emptiness is explained by the fact the 8.17 started from clonsilla this morning.

That probably explains why the later Maynooth-Pearse train was so packed, given the numbers of passengers the 8.17 must have left behind

I arrived at Louisa Bridge at 0800 and there was an announcement over the tannoy that there had been delays at Connolly, but the final part of the announcement was inaudible. Twenty minutes later I rang Maynooth and was told that the 0805 to Bray was cancelled and that there had been an announcement. Not one that could have been heard!

The 0823 ran fifteen minutes late and I got to work half an hour late.

This was the sort of crap service that I've been getting at Hazelhatch and what I had hoped to avoid by going to the Maynooth line, which I used to find punctual.

Yeah its typical that when something goes wrong they go all out and make it worse. There is no such thing as provisions in this country. They make it up as they in along.
