![]() "National Rail Users Organisation attends official launch of new Intercity
trains" Date : 10th July 2006 Issued by : Platform 11 Press Office. Contact : Derek Wheeler. Public Relations Officer. Tel : 086 3452651. Representatives of Platform 11 will today attend the official launch of Irish Rail's new Intercity trains on the Dublin - Cork - Dublin route. This invitation is a milestone for passenger representation and is recognition of the important work that Platform 11 does in campaigning for improved rail services. We warmly welcome Irish Rail's invitation to todays event. Platform 11's Public Relations Officer, Derek Wheeler, will be available today, to provide all media interests, with the views of ordinary rail passengers in relation to the new trains. For too long these "official launch" events have been dominated by politicians and rail managers. Today should mark a turning point and Platform 11 welcomes the opportunity to discuss the new trains on the basis of what they offer the customer. ENDS. Note to editors. Platform 11 is Ireland's National Rail Users Organisation. It was formed in 2003 to campaign for improved rail services nationwide in line with international best practice.
