On train information and the lack thereof, post your experience

The last two or three times I've taken the Sligo train from Connolly there's been no onboard indication of the destination until moments before the train pulled out, and shortly after departure the automated system helpfully informed us that all passengers not intending to travel should disembark as the train would be leaving in two minutes
