![]() In a very messy Heuston last night, due to the 17:50 Galway MIA.
The board displayed this as 15 mins late so any Portarlington commuters switched queues to the 18:05 Portlaoise. When the 18:05 started boarding, I noticed the queue was very slow. Found out why when I got to the top. The ticket checker was insisting on stamping multi-journey tickets, weekly/monthly etc which involved people having to stand about fishing them out of wallets. He took my travel wallet off me (ticket & ID displayed in a clear windows) and said - 'We have to mark all the tickets at least once'. 'But it's a monthly, I've never had one stamped before'. 'We have to do it to prove travel'. Huh? ![]() And they really pick their moment, slowing a queue on a busy train that's already late boarding.
