Default 07.16 Portlaoise-Heuston

Is there any regular user of this service on here and if so could you tell me if its a 3 or 6 car set and the loadings on it and would it be possible for it to accomidate one or two other stops if required.

The 07:16 is a 3 car and runs non-stop to Sallins. It started following the commencement 0505 Limerick-Dublin via Nenagh. The 0505 took over the running of the 0725 ex Portloaise but as it was only a 3-car, the 0716 was added to maintain capacity through the commuter stations.

Occasionally the 0716 has had Kildare and Newbridge added on the rare occasions with the 0600 ex Waterford was delayed but gets very crowded if this happens.

Essentially the old 6-car 0725 was split into two 3-car services.

I was just seeing weather it could take a stop from the 06.00 from Waterford. I have taken it everyday this week and its scheduled as a premair set which sitting in premair class is strictly enforeced.

On Monday it was 2 by 3 car sets, when we were leaving Newbridge there was people standing where they could. There was around 10 people stading in the middle of my carrage. It has being a premair set the last two mornings so thats 36 empty seats for the most part and people standing everywhere again.

Either the 07.16 stops at one of the stations or the 05.05 also serves Kildare at 07.35 which would mean a departure from Kildare at 07.25, 07.35 and 07.40.

The 0716 runs, slowly, after the 0600 from Waterford so it is unlikely to relieve pressure on the 0600. Also, rumour has it that the 0505 ex Cork is for the chop. So that puts even more pressure on the 0600 if Newbridge loses that stop. Some additional commuter capacity will be required.

All I will say is the new timetable will have a lot to come up with as it can't go on serving both stations and I think its being confirmed the 05.05 is dropped from a person within IE who seems to be in the know.

This morning the 0600 from Waterford was running 15mins late so the 0716 made additional stops at Kildare and Newbridge. Thee 3-car train was almost full after Kildare and people standing from Newbridge with stops at Sallins, Hazelhatch and Adamstown to come.

If the 0505 is cancelled, then if the 0716 was upgraded to a 6-car and ran ahead of the 0600 then it could take over the Newbridge stop.
