![]() Someone may have entered the wrong code.
The holiday Monday was meant to be a Sunday schedule.

![]() was on the 09:30 Cork - Heuston last week. Arrived into to Heuston @ 12:03, but the realtime showed that we would not be in until 12:22 and that we had just departed Cherry Orchard.

Over the last week with a reduced schedule, reasonable weather, low passenger numbers and Dun Laoghaire-Bray closed, there have been fewer things that could go wrong and most trains have been on time.

![]() Recently I've noticed that the Realtime display, which is a very useful service especially as phone Apps, is dropping the next train. For example this morning at Kildare, the 0746 from Portlaosie dissappeared off the real-time before it arrived as did the 0754 from Westport. Last week, the 0845 from Kildare dropped off the display 2-3 mins before derparture.
Previously the display used to display trains which had departed with a -mins which was useful. But dropping the next train is definitely a backward step. ![]() |

![]() The system current works on triggers from the signaling system which capture the train passing certain points, in Kildare the arrived Dublin bound trigger is the signal at the bridge at the south end of the station.
Sometimes the notification doesn't get passed through and it works based on last known location and extrapolates forward. We have worked with Irish Rail to sort the triggers out on the Kildare line solved some strange problems. A new enhanced system will go live this year which will tie GPS in to the system. I'll have a chat with the manager in charge in IE and see if the system can be tweaked

![]() The trains in question dissappeared off the realtime well before they reached the trigger point south of Kildare except for the 0845 which originates in Kildare.

![]() This morning, just after the 0755 (0515 ex Westport) departed Kildare, the real-time display dropped the 0801 (0735 ex Portlaoise). A minute of two earlier the 0801 was shown at Monasterevin. A few mninutes later the 0801 reappeared.
Realtime is a really useful service espeically on smartphone apps but it needs to be a bit more reliable. The next train being dropped can be disconcerting considering the next service is 45 mins later. |

![]() Well whatever the IT people in IE did yesterday, the Heuston display now shows departures only, and from what I can see only timetabled timed, not actual times.

![]() Working better now - next train not dissappearing.
Wonder if the problem with arrivals is to do with the 'Scheduled Arrival' time being missing from the RSS feeds??? |

For example, at 0742 this morning in Kildare, the train expected at 0747 dissappeared off the realtime. Something similar happended yesterday. perhaps it can't cope with a situation where one train is in the station and the other just down the line at Cheeryville? |
