![]() I'm going to go to Paris to dig up the grave of the unknown soldier as I don't know who he is.

![]() Popped up there at lunchtime for a look.
![]() Sorry about the bad camperphone photo. I have some proper photos, but I don't have the means to download them here. It's a proper pronze plaque that must have cost a fair bit, and it fills a hole that was left by the abandoned milleniunm clock (the chime in the slime). I say let it stay, at least until someone comes up with something better to fill the hole. It's hardly the first memorial to a person or event of questionable historical accuracy. |

![]() I like the signs that have been put up in support of him. Anyone know how long the plaque has been there?

Apparently it was reported on by a Sunday newspaper, though I've no idea which one. |

![]() Okay, according to UTV it's been there for three years:
http://www.utvinternet.com/newsroom/...?id=73142&pt=n I'd like to know their source for that. I can't believe everyone's been walking by it and noone's noticed. On the other hand, I must have walked by it hundreds of times and never noticed either the plaque or the empty space. |

![]() I think that has been there for some time. I think I saw it before but didn't really pay attention (why would I?). I'm kind of surprised to hear it is a prank.

![]() I was right that it had been there for sometime. There was/is a plaque beside the phone boxes on the north/east side of the bridge. Anyone know what that is? |

![]() Removing that piece of art from O'Connell bridge is just confirmation that this country has turned into a, stuck up, conformist, self important and ignorant little dirt bin. Our sense of humour and identity has been relpaced by a sense of importance that eats away at the true virtues of what Ireland used to be about.
Dublin city is a badly planned, architecturally inept and dirty landscape. What do the city keepers decide? The art must go. Its an emphasis on nothing compared to the issues that they should really be addressing and never will. |

![]() Bad move alright. If nothing else it was a bit of fun.
But now there's presumably just going to be a big hole there. I mean it been there for god know how long and noone's even noticed it. Why did it have to go? |

![]() Just to let you all know, the plaque is still there. I saw it on Monday night. It really is quite well made.
