Wonder what happened?
Any details on what happened? The nearest bridge is most unusual, in that 2 cars can only fit through at a squeeze. There is a very large land bank over the underbridge before you hit the railway line, hence it would an unusual event to close the line there...just curious..

Incident normally means train Vs person, bridge strike a separate issue

Got caught up in it today on the 9.50 service from Dundalk.
We stopped at Malahide at 10.50 (not a scheduled stop), and were quickly, though mumbily and barely audibly told that there was a bridge strike, and there'd be a delay. The women beside me (one of which was made late for her job interview ) thought he said there was a strike on. Got going again at 11.12 or so, bringing the pleasant 2900 journey neatly over the hour and a half mark... |

These were two seperate incidents, one a bridge strike somewhere on the line around 11am which was nothing to do with the Skerries incident at around 12.30pm
A young woman was fatally struck by a northbound passing enterprise around Skerries station - may have been on the platform seconds before. Last edited by Bluetonic : 01-06-2006 at 15:15. |
