Angry Persistent louspeaker noise on Cork train

Last Friday on 19.05 From Heuston to Cork, there was a persistent loud hum and crackle on the speaker. Is this an issue on other services?

Yep, heard that one before. Usually when they leave the phone open. you can hear great conversations and the like, and if it's left near a radio or something lots of wierd interferance.

Very entertaining when it happened on the DART one morning. Someone had smashed the mirror at the end of the southbound platform so despite the "stand clear of the doors announcements" people still were getting stuck in the doors. The driver decided to get on the radio to fairview to let them know what he thought, only he forget to swith of the one to the rest of the train so all of the passengers heard all of his side of the conversation, including such memorable remarks as:
"What the **** am i meant to do theres no ******* mirror so i nearly took their ******* heads off" and so on. Someone went up and told him unfortunately spoiled all the fun but there were a lot of rarely seen chuckles on the train that morning
