Default [19-08-08] Belfast Dublin delays

Irish Rail are reporting 30 minute delays to the Enterprise service due to flooding at portadown (reduced to one line). Irish rail have put on an extra commuter train for the 07.57 Dundalk to Dublin probably due to the delay to the 06.50 Belfast Dublin Enterprise.

From Translink
Quote:
Enterprise - 0650 Belfast Central to Dublin 19-Aug 8:30
Due to flooding the 0650 service from Belfast Central to Dublin departed Newry 35 minutes late.
.

This will no doubt cause a knock on effect to the 9.35 Dublin-Belfast and other Enterprise services through the day

Serious respect to NIR, this is how you run a railway when faced with a serious problem

well the 16.50 Dublin-Belfast was delayed til 17.20... I note Translink stated that the delay was 53 minutes... presumably because of it being stuck behind the 17.15 commuter train and then the flood... The 18.10 belfast dublin was delayed by 63 minutes... more importantly

NI RAILWAYS - PORTADOWN/NEWRY LINE UPDATE 19-Aug 17:47
NI Railways engineers will be working through the night.

We expect normal service to resume on the Portadown/Newry rail line for Wednesday 20th August.
So hopefully services will be back to normal tomorrow...
