New 16:40 Dublin-Gorey service
The new 16:40 Connolly-Gorey service is due to start on Tuesday 6th May. Big question will this operate with all the current drivers issues? On asking at Connolly Info this evening I was told it would indeed operate however the local train staff think it is doubtful.
Mark have you heard anything about this new service operating as planned or are looking at another journey crammed into the evening Enniscorthy service? Ed |

Thank you Mark. One of my fellow commuters rang Abbey Street yesterday inquiring about the new service only to be told that there was no new services planned for Gorey untill December.

There is a strong chance the 16:40 is part of the existing roster since it was pencilled in for the 2007 timetable as well, that is to say there is a link in the roster which includes driving the 16:40 out and back which already is filled, as in it doesn't require any extra drivers
We don't know, what we do know is it won't run on Monday 5th despite what the Irish Rail website says

I would be literally schuffed if the Gorey service got the new train.
There is a chance but now people are saying well im not going to the station only to find the service not operating and then waiting for the 17:25...... Last edited by KSW : 16-03-2009 at 22:14. |

According to the timetable the 17:25 (41 minutes) is actually faster than the 16:40 (42 minutes) at getting to bray.... by 1 minute
Although the 16:40 (1 hour 53 mins) is faster than the 17:25 (1 hr 54 mins) at getting to gorey by 1 minute. The fastest train of the peak hour to gorey is still the 18:37 with 1 hour 47 minutes Last edited by ThomasJ : 02-05-2008 at 08:17. |

IE staff, if you're reading. You need to get your act together with the information you provide. Reading from a book which can be out of date as soon as there is a service change, is a very poor show. |

16:40 is clearly shown in the current (Dec 2007) edition

There is a mail in this mornings metro in which a commuter asks what is the point in irish rail sending a dart out two minutes before the 16:40 connolly gorey leaving them stuck behind all the way.
I agree i would have thought they would have at least send it out behind the dun laoghaire bound dart |
