Default Killucan Station - according to PDFs!

http://www.iarnrodeireann.ie/your_jo...nolly%2007.pdf

Follow the link - if you look closely there is a stop timetabled at Killucan off the 0800 train to Longford.

The time appears to be about right for a Killucan stop as well. Curious!

This is another classic example of a screw up in Irish Rail

Killucan is a passing loop, no station. The 8:00 to Sligo will actually stop there to be passed by a Dublin bound train. You can't get off since its not a station anymore

Note I've seen Geashill on the Portarlington Athlone line listed in a similar way

There is another place called cloneydonin or something between Clara and Athlone that gets listed.

Full list is

Sligo Dublin: Killucan,
Portarlington Athone: Clonnydonin, Geashill
Westport Athlone: Knockcrockery
Athy Waterford:Ballyhale

You should find Irish Rail have these invisible stations in many timetables at stations, they have a place in the staff timetable but not in the public one

Of course we then have Manualla Junction where you stop but cant actually exit other than by train

Thats useful for those using Manulla junction to see if we are on time etc while waiting there.

I found the last bank holiday Monday the Ballina - Dublin Heuston train had 2 timetable errors.
Both Manulla Junction & Clara were listed on the timetable with times but the train didn't stop at either.

Can anyone tell me the reason why at Manulla junction you can change trains but not get off at the the station? My cousin told me this the other year while I was visiting Ballina!
