[28-2-2007] Portarlington and/or Sallins area
Something called a "service" has failed, depending on reports, either near Sallins or Portarlington. It has caused a backlog of other "services" and delays to services including:
15:10 Galway to Dublin (arrived Heuston 18:44 instead of 17:44 - that's on the money) 18:25 Heuston to Waterford (passengers boarded after the 18:44 Galway emptied) everything else on the route between 5 and 6 seemed to be late |

18.05 did all the stops to Portlaoise, adding in Sallins & Newbridge.
Made okay time considering although it was the 3rd day in row something happened to the 18.05.

17.25 to Limerick left about 10 minutes late, stopped at the new Adamstown station, a builder took a photo of it, moved along a few hundred meters along the track and stopped again, alongside a Dublin bound train, before continuing forward. Got into Kildare at 18:23, only 14 minutes behind schedule.

It has been taking 65mins under the new timetable, usually getting to athy by 19:10 and having to wait there for 8-10 mins to play catchup to the timetable. 18:10 service to Newbridge was cancelled. Just before 19:00 they got a likkle confused about what trains were arriving at/leaving platform 1 along with where they would be stopping on the return journey. kevin |
