of course they're not telling us if services are running on both sides ie Dalkey Bray/Greystones

Interesting AARoadwatch saying this....

DART services are only operating between Malahide/Howth and Lansdowne Rd and Dun Laoghaire Bray/Greystones until further notice due to a security alert.

I'd take both statements with a pinch of salt and contact the local station if i were travelling!

DART services in the capital are disrupted this lunchtime due to a security alert.

A suspicious device was found at 12.15pm this afternoon on the line near Dun Laoghaire.

Trains are only operating between Howth and Lansdowne Road and again between Dun Laoghaire and Bray until further notice.

However, Dublin Bus is honouring all valid DART tickets

Rosslare Services

12.55hrs Rosslare to Connolly service will operate as train to Wicklow and bus transfer from Wicklow to Connolly.

13.30 Connolly to Rosslare service will operate as a bus transfer from Connolly to Wicklow and as train from Wicklow to Rosslare.

GardaÃ* in Dún Laoghaire are attending to a 'security alert' on the DART line.

A discovery was made on the rail tracks at the Old Dún Laoghaire Road.

GardaÃ* have requested the assistance of the Defence Forces and a bomb disposal unit has been dispatched.

Roads in the area have been sealed off.

DART services are only operating between Malahide/Howth and Lansdowne Road and Dún Laoghaire Bray/Greystones until further notice.

As Irish Rail removed the crossover in Dun Laoghaire at Christmas they can't terminate northbound services from Bray as they now need to run out towards Salthill

Why can't the Rosslare trains run as far as Bray instead of the bus transfer to or from Wicklow?

Viable device found near rail line in Dublin

The Defence Forces has confirmed that the suspicious package found beside the railway line in Dún Laoghaire this morning was a viable device.

However, it said it was not part of any attack and had been stored near a pedestrian bridge for later use.

The device, which is believed to have been a pipe bomb, was removed from the scene by an army bomb disposal unit.

It is believed that the device was made by criminals rather than subversives. It had been wrapped in a duffle bag.

The alert disrupted rail services between Dún Laoghaire and Dublin city centre for several hours.

A number of roads were also closed but have since re-opened.

Dart resumes after security alert

Dart services have returned to normal after a security alert forced the closure of the line between Lansdowne Road and Dalkey in south Dublin earlier today.

A suspect device, believed to be a pipe bomb, was found on a pedestrian bridge over the Dart line on the old Dún Laoghaire Road before mid-day. GardaÃ* were called and an Army bomb disposal team called in.

The team arrived at the scene at 1.25pm and declared it safe at 2.50pm. The Dart line was re-opened shortly afterwards.

The Army described the device as viable and have classed it as what they term a "find" meaning it was probably being stored on the bridge for use elsewhere. It has now been handed over to GardaÃ* for their investigations.
