Midleton Pay & Display.
My wife was expecting to return to Midleton this evening and now won't be there until tomorrow. The problem is she's only paid the parking ticket up to today. Is there a service where payment can be made online or by phone to extend it? The though of having to pay for a clamp to be removed isn't that nice.
Thanks in anticipation, Trevor Doolan. |

The ticket is valid for exactly 1 day, 1 week or 1 month. So a 1 day ticket is valid exactly 24 hours
Visit http://www.parkbytext.ie location code is 0994 for Midleton station car park. Should be able to sort it out through this

Many thanks Mark,
Unfortunately the parkbytext website had difficulties over the weekend and secure transactions had been taken offline. I had left a less than impressed remark on their feedback form and was amazed to be phoned within 15 minutes advising me that they had extended the parking for 24 hours free of charge and apologised for the difficulties. I then got a text message fro their IT department explaining why it had not worked. So now I'm more than impressed considering this was after nine o'clock at night. |

After 3 months, the free parking has come to an end at the stations in East Cork. The car parks are once again barren.

Can you give us a before and after head count?

Even though there was free parking available for the last 3 months at Midleton/Carrigtwohill/Glounthaune/Little Island stations, signs still indicated "Have you payed and displayed?". These were displayed around the fencing of the car park. Only when attempting to purchase a ticket did the customer see a black plastic bag wrapped around it with a notice indicating the free parking.
I do not have a car count, but noted that Midleton had definitely an increase in car park usage, but to a greater extend Glounthaune: cars are normally parked outside the gates at Glounthaune, along both sides of the road. Situation there over the last 3 months was the same, but now with the car park full-enough as well. Little Island saw an increase in usage as well, but not to the same level. |
