Default What really is wrong with the lift in Sandycove

Its been an ongoing joke that the Northbound lift in Sandycove is out of service

On site investigation shows the lift was subjected to a serious vandal attack

That said IE have not done anything to fix it and they have had 3 months. So why is there no notice on the IE site. It is fixable if they bothered

The platform has always had ramped access, its just a lot steeper than regulations demand. Would probably need a member of staff to assist

The building regulations (possibly not strictly applicable to railways) insist on a slope of 1:12 on distance up to 6m and 1:20 for longer slopes. You need a level section after every 6m.
