Default Resumption of services

Does anyone know when the Waterford to Limerick junction service will resume?

The line has been completely closed between Tipperary and Clonmel for track relaying these last few weeks. Also there has been extensive relaying work near Nenagh on the North Tipp line.

The cynic in me says that this is bad news as money spent on such things can be used as evidence of really big losses. On the other hand it would be unlikely that a Green minister for transport would countenance rail closures. But maybe he is more interested in bicycles rather than trains.

Seriously though, I would imagine that when other lines revert to normal timetables the North and South Tipperary lines will resume services.

Thanks. These track improvements can only be a good thing for both lines. Should lead to less speed restrictions and faster journey times and who knows maybe an extra service in each direction.

Hopefully services resume before the summer is out.

We have been unable to get any clarity on getting full service back up and running.

The relaying appears to be proper new track not panels recovered from elsewhere

I have heard that the Waterford-Limerick line will reopen on the 31st of August.
Can anyone here confirm if this is true or not?

For some time the journey planner has been showing that the service will resume with the 07.20 train ex Waterford next Monday, 31st August, 2020.

Hopefully both IÉ and the NTA are ensuring that will happen.
