11/2/08 - Heuston -> waterford
The 18:25 just left heuston, 50 mins late due to 'operational difficulties'
There were a load of extra passengers as I don't think the 17:35 actually ran. Are cork troubles spreading northwards? kevin |

Phase 2 kicked off this morning, sadly we have no details, we won't know until after the event and even then its going to be fairly random. There may be a overtime ban in force.
Just pray no one calls in sick Assume cancellation of 17:35 from now on

Stopped in inchicore...."trains running in advance"
insult to injury How do cancelled trains count for refunds? ... now there's a train with difficulties in advance, don't know how long it's going to take. maybe there's a full refund in my future. On the plus side. I get to sit in first class, with power, unchallenged as, well, who is going to get all picky after this delay Last edited by kevin : 11-02-2008 at 19:36. Well if you arrived for the 17:35, but ended up on the 18:25, thats 50 minutes delay + whatever you collect enroute
Since the 18:25 is not advertised as having first, sit in it for free

Checked with Customer service in Heuston this morning.
17:35 cancelled again today. Passengers should get the 17:45 Westport train which will stop at Newbridge and they promise that today they will actually have a bus to take you to athy and carlow Yesterday the bus was there but it was sent away before the passengers arrived (Check with customer service, 90% sure he said westport) |

There is no strike ongoing
There is an issue as of Monday staff in protest at various issues with management may no longer be working overtime. Now that shouldn't have any impact if Irish Rail had adequate staffing Through the wonderfull planning of Irish Rail, the extra trains in the 2008 timetable of which the 17:35 is one are likely to be worked on overtime and therefore are at risk Tracking the problem here http://www.railusers.ie/forum/showth...newpost&t=3790 There was a problem with the 19:00 to Cork last night which messed Heuston up pretty bad

Let me be very clear there is no strike
Work to rule, not working days off etc is not a strike, you can't be sacked, disciplined etc for refusing to work beyond the agreed conditions
